Business value and return on investment

See which jobs bring in the profit and where the money leaks away

Most service companies find out how much they earned at the end of the year, from their accountant. But nobody tells them which job, which route and where the profit went.

For every completed job, RDO compares the plan with reality, in money and in time, so you see in time what is worth pricing or organizing differently.

In 46 seconds: what got done, planned vs actual, and what each job earned.

Job profitability

You know what every job earned

Every completed job shows the estimated and actual revenue, the cost and the result of the job, in money and as a percentage. The system calculates from working time, hourly rates, materials and issued invoices, and flags when a job is missing data.

Estimated and actual result per job.

In the Statistics view, you see these for a chosen period:

  • Average result per job

One number to follow month by month to see whether the company is doing better.

  • Deviation from the estimate

The difference between the actual and the estimated result. It shows where your estimates are consistently off.

  • Share of travel

How much of the team's working hours went on the road. This is the easiest place to save.

  • Cost of unsuccessful visits

See in money what the wasted visits cost.

  • Cost breakdown

On-site work, travel and materials, estimated and actual.

  • Margin in bands

How many jobs lost money, and how many brought in more than 40%.

Execution and performance

See how the plan worked out and where the day slipped

This feature shows how the planned day actually went: how many jobs were completed, who arrived on time or late, where a visit was unsuccessful, and how much time actually went on travel and work compared with the plan, per route and per technician. It is not about holding technicians to account, but about making the next plan more realistic.

How the day stands, per route and per technician.

During the day: the dispatcher's view

See at a glance where the day stands and what needs attention.

  • completed jobs, arrivals within the time window and late ones,
  • unsuccessful visits, marked separately when there was no access,
  • deviations and alerts, each with an owner and a next step,
  • every visit attempt, retries do not overwrite earlier ones.

What you gain: a deviation is not lost in a phone call; it has an owner and gets closed.

Afterwards: the report

Compares the plan with measured data, per route and per technician.

  • planned and measured travel time and on-site working time,
  • keeping to the time window: arrived on time, early or late,
  • outcomes and reasons: completed, unsuccessful, no access,
  • planned route savings: an estimate for the route before and after optimization.

What you gain: you see where you underestimate travel or working time, so the next schedule is more accurate.

What is all this for?

Not statistics for their own sake

Numbers are worth something when they lead to decisions. You get answers to these questions from your own data, not industry averages.

  1. Planning

    More realistic plans

Measured travel and working times make the next schedule more accurate, and nobody gets an overplanned day.

  2. Execution

    Fewer wasted visits

Once you see what they cost and why they happen, you can act on them directly.

  3. Completion and invoicing

    No invoice is missed

The system flags when invoicing for a job is incomplete or data is missing.

  4. Evaluation

    Pricing based on numbers

It turns out which job type you have underpriced for years, and what the market will bear.

The lessons feed back into the next plan

Learn from the past, plan the future: the Business planner also works from the data of completed jobs. Estimate how profit would develop with changes (e.g. a new colleague, taking on more or less work, a price increase).
